WIS2 in a box is a reference implementation of a WMO WIS2 node. The following wis2box instances are currently available for demonstration purposes:

wis2box-algeria

Algeria is hosting an instance of wis2box installed on their local infrastructure, which shares SYNOP observations data on the WIS2 network.

wis2box-morocco

Maroc Meteo in Casablanca is hosting an instance of wis2box installed on their local infrastructure, which shares SYNOP observations data on the WIS2 network.

wis2box-malawi (WMO demo instance)

Campbell Automatic Weather Stations in Malawi are sending data in CSV format to an SFTP hosted by WMO. The WMO SFTP forwards data to a dedicated wis2box instance hosted in the cloud. wis2box converts the CSV data to BUFR format and sends a notification to the WIS2 Global Broker for each new BUFR produced.

wis2box-australia (WMO demo instance)

Australia's Bureau of Metrology is forwarding SYNOP-data in bufr-format into a S3-bucket hosted by WMO. The data is forwarded from S3 to a dedicated wis2box for Australia. wis2box parses the BUFR data and produces one BUFR file per station, and sends a notification the WIS2 Global Broker for each new BUFR produced.

wis2box-italy (WMO demo instance)

Italy sends SYNOP data in BUFR format to an SFTP hosted by WMO. The data is forwarded from the SFTP into a dedicated wis2box hosted in the cloud. wis2box parses the BUFR data and produces one BUFR file per station, and sends a notification the WIS2 Global Broker for each new BUFR produced.

wis2box-argentina (WMO demo instance)

Similar to Italy, Argentina is sending SYNOP data in BUFR format to the SFTP hosted by WMO, from where the data is forwarded to a dedicated wis2box where it is parsed and BUFR per station is produced and the WIS23 Global Broker is notified.
